SGP Digital
About Us
Stephen George + Partners (SGP) Digital encompasses IT, BIM, CGI + Automation, and AI.
Our IT infrastructure ensures our business resilience and continuity; and our capabilities in these fields provides our clients with a unique ‘one stop shop’ offer to enhance their projects, save time, reduce risk and meet the needs of future industry.
Our Capability
SGP were early adopters of Revit. Around 95% of our projects are now being delivered in Revit, with varying levels of co-ordination and integration depending on client requirements and consultant engagement.
Our Architecture and Digital teams have the skills and capabilities to deliver BIM projects to ‘stage 2 maturity’ as defined in ISO19650-1:2018 and have practical experience delivering numerous projects.
In 2022, SGP achieved official recognition of its organisational capabilities to deliver projects in accordance with ISO19650. We achieved our certification under the Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) scheme for the role of ‘Lead Appointed Party’ and/or ‘Appointed Party.’.
Information Technology
SGP has always invested in new technology and was one of the first practices in the UK to embrace virtualised machines for CAD workflows. This early adoption has helped optimise our infrastructure, bringing both flexibility and resilience to how we work.
-
Our desktop machines and our servers are fully virtualised and in the cloud (across multiple date centres), with the resilience (N+1), flexibility and scalability that this brings. We are a safe pair of hands for our clients and collaborators and will always have the systems to deliver our work and to meet their needs.
-
Proper redundancy capabilities in an alternate data centre to enable us to be back up and running in max. 4hrs.
-
Stored in multiple locations in the cloud, air gapped immutable backups to ensure our data is safe regardless of the risks.
-
Cyber essentials certified. High Microsoft Security score. MFA fully enabled covering all critical systems & platforms; Fully monitored networks & systems 24/7.
Better Information Management (BIM)
-
We see BIM as a main driver for collaborative working and an effective enabler for improving a project’s efficiency and reducing its risk throughout all work stages.
BIM helps us deliver better:
- Design optimisation through improved communication, collaboration, analysis + coordination (clash detection);
- Information Management, achieved by planning information delivery and checking what is delivered against the plan;
- Quality Management + Assurance processes.
-
We tailor BIM delivery to suit the needs of the project. This enables us to effectively plan and deliver the right information to the right person at the right time.
In line with our company values of ‘We Care’ + ‘We Challenge,’ we actively question all requirements to deliver the most appropriate solutions and capture the things that others miss.
CGI
As we generate information models for all our projects, from feasibility or concept stage through to operational phase, we are able to provide 3D imagery, animations, VR walkthroughs and 360 Tours direct from our design data, removing the risk of misinterpretation by third-party visualisers.
This allows us to communicate our design in the best possible way, ensuring our clients, their clients, and their end users, understand exactly what is proposed. The result is a better product, with thoroughly considered design, optimised to meet the needs of all parties.
AUTOMATION + AI
We are embracing newly available commercial tools to enhance our offer. We are also conducting R&D around underlying technologies, such as generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), to consider how we can embrace them more strategically.
