The Scheme will provide significant improvements to the station role as a strategic gateway to the town centre. Enhancements to vehicular and pedestrian access, facilities and connectivity with the Nestle Site to the east of the station and rail viaduct are also key objectives.

The enhancements to Halifax Station and its environs are part of a wider strategy to improve local infrastructure, boost jobs and economic growth and create a unified masterplan with adjacent stakeholders.
