Marcus Madden-Smith

Having joined SGP as an Architectural Assistant in 1997, Marcus became a Partner in 2016 and is Sector Head for Industrial and Office Head for Leicester. His role encompasses business strategy, business development and managing the practice.

An experienced architect and masterplanner, Marcus believes design should be functional, adaptable yet beautiful. He is passionate about promoting efficiency and delivering beyond client expectations, and loves being an advisor to SGP’s clients, demonstrating the practice’s depth of knowledge. His goals are to continue to grow SGP in capability, competence, and maturity through mentoring and training, as well as expanding the client base by developing new opportunities and building on existing relationships.

With good hand–eye coordination, Marcus enjoys most racket sports… but useless foot-eye coordination means he avoids the ski slopes! He is fascinated by technological advancements, particularly virtual and artificial reality.
