Having joined SGP in 2020, Jay is Deputy Sector Head for Logistics, responsible for managing projects from feasibility, planning, tender and into construction, engaging extensively with clients, contractors, and consultants, and attending public consultations. She undertakes feasibility and masterplanning studies, monitors budgets / resources, and handles design issues, providing technical resolutions.
A Revit Champion, Jay is involved in several SGP Matrix Groups, including Better Buildings (Social Responsibility), Futures, Media Group (Presentation), Business Development and the Shadow Board. She has a passion for urban planning and is drawn to the ideas of New Urbanism and urban experiments, placemaking and wayfinding. This is partly due to her natural sense of direction in any city she finds herself in.
Shortlisted for RIBA East Midlands Student Award 2020, Jay is passionate about changing architectural education to become more connected with work in practice, as well as mentoring students in general. Jay’s ongoing fascination with AI and 3D printing feeds her enjoyment of learning new crafts, such as solving the Rubik’s cube and almost getting a world record for fastest typing on an iPad. These lead her to think about the opportunities and challenges new technologies will bring.
