Functional and honest in its expression, the building’s distilled simplicity is executed in considered detail. In sympathy with its lakeside setting the building’s modern lines are softened by natural materials: creased buff brick; untreated wood, and zinc roofing, coining the phrase ‘soft modern’.

 

Constructed by NMCN, the building is a reimagining of a ‘regular’ office, delivered on a regular Design and Build Contract, to a regular budget, using regular construction. However, by combining great design, team work, and craftmanship, it proves that in addition to ticking the ‘regular’ boxes, you can achieve so much more: higher rental values, ‘A’ rated energy performance, and a building that not only facilitates the needs of the practice now and in the future but improves the wellbeing of staff and the quality and efficiency of what we do.
